That Anime Show EP 32 with Robert McCollum

Robert McCollum has been so blessed by the anime gods that he has been directed by BOTH Terri and Tatum in RIN (Kouki Maeno), Romeo X Juliet (Curio). Funimation credits include Baki the Grappler (Baki), Dragon Ball GT (Goten), Yu Yu Hakusho (Sensui), Witchblade (Yusuke Tozawa), Kaze no Stigma (Kazuma), Sengoku Basara (Date Masamune), Suzuka (Yasunobu), Peach Girl (Toji), Samurai 7 (Tessai) and One Piece (Donquixote Doflamingo). Robert was also featured in this year’s movie release of Summer Wars as Yorihiko Jinnouchi.

Other credits include Speed Grapher (Niihari), Sands of Distruction (Toppy), Nabari No O (Yukimi), Initial D: Fourth Stage (Wataru), Birdy the Mighty Decode (Kesiuke Muroto), Chrome Shelled Regios (Savalis), D Gray Man (Suman Dark), Tower of Druaga: Sword of Urik (Uragon), and Strain (Ralph Werec).

Robert is a former marketing director-turned-stage, improv and film actor; commercial voice artist, writer, producer, and director. (Yeah, that’s a lot of jobs. Translation: Rob doesn’t focus well.) For two years, he was seen each weekday as the host of WFAA-TV’s Good Morning Texas, and still serves as producer and contributor. In addition to extensive work on-camera, hundreds of commercials, industrial videos, and games, Rob has been heard as the voice of Church’s Chicken and Taco Bueno. And if you worked at Pier One in the early 2000‘s, Rob’s videos trained you. Lucky, lucky you.

I’m a current college student and I don’t know why, but everywhere I turn I’m inadvertently given advice that I actually need. I love the conversation sparked by Daniel’s question. 🙂

Tatum referenced Victor/Victoria! I heard it.

I almost fell out of my chair when Rob said he would save “The Scarlet Pimpernel” in the hypothetical mystical fire question. It’s been one of my favorite books since I first read it in the 8th grade, so it’s good to know that someone would try to save it. 😀

Oh my God. “Next on a very special That Anime Show: Michael Solusod. July 9th. YOU SHOULD BE LISTENING.”

Yes, every time I listen to this podcast I get at least one bit of psychological advice I can think about. Though I know all to well that no one is getting money out of television, so it was the only part of the episode where I was actually sore from hearing it. Speakin’ your opinion, though.

XDD Oh God, menudo… As a Mexican, I come across it a lot… As myself and my tastes.. Never am I going to eat it.
The monkey thing made me laugh.
I just discovered this today, and I can say this is AWESOME.

Not to be picky, but you misspelled Basara >_<

I’m glad you like my question, I LOVED the conversation on it 😀 Great show TAS!

  7. Robyne says:

I have the same issue with menudo as you Terri… I am Mexican, but I just can’t stand it any more since I found out what it was made of.

  8. Austin McCollum says:

I found my last name while watching the credits of the last episode of Kaze no Stigma and seeing that this man has played a part in most of the amines the Netflix has to offer I’m amazed I didn’t find him sooner
