Trina Nishimura has become more and more involved in the anime scene over the past few years, primarily working with FUNimation Entertainment. Trina was first cast in Desert Punk as the little hungry girl Namiko and has refused to leave the FUNimation property ever since. Her most notably awesome credits include: Black Cat (Tanya), Claymore (Flora and Sophia), Jyu Oh Se (Tiz), Kenichi the Mightiest Disciple (Shigure Kosaka), Speed Grapher (Yui), season one and two of Negima!? (Lingshen Chao and Motsu), Sasami: Magical Girl Club (Ayane), Baldr Force Exe (Tsukina Sasagiri), School Rumble and Yurippe School Rumble: 2nd Semester (Akira Takano), Baccano! (Rachel), Sergant Frog (Ghost Girl), Case Closed: The Last Magician of the Century the Movie (Natasha Kosaka), Nabari no O (Juji Minami), and the ever popular Witchblade (Shiore Tsuzuki).
Having recently completed work as Nadie in El Cazador de la Bruja, the final installation in BeeTrain’s “girls with guns” trilogy, Trina has finally been able to leave the FUNimation premises having proven her voice acting abilities. Since her departure she has been called back as Meifong Liu in Blassreiter, Kaaya in Tower of Druaga, Akeno in My Bride is a Mermaid, Karen Nishiyama in Bamboo Blade, Luna in Cashern Sins, Lia Dragonell Sands of Destruction, Mizune in Soul Eater, Francesca Lucchini inStrike Witches, Oriku in Oh! Edo Rocket, Suzuri in Rideback, Capella Titus in Birdy the Mighty Decode, Lan Fan in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and her most anticipated role to date as Mari Makinami Illustrious in Evangelion 2.0.

I’m so glad you all brought up what happened in Japan. I’m just glad that you all are promoting what the Unofficial One Piece Podcast as well. Ya’ll are amazing people, and I’m touched to see it.
🙂 I loved it, as always! Can’t wait for Cherami! 😀
Tatum and Dan Green….that is epic. Dan Green and Tatum would be an awesome team. 😀
(And he likes Russian Romanticism? Tatum rocks.)
I loved Trina in El Cazador and I’m glad that she is so fond of it still. 😀 and she’s so cool for loving Terabithia! That was the greatest story growing up and I agree with Terry; the remake was an abomination!
I can’t wait for the next episode; I adore Cherami Leigh. 😀
Why don’t people ask these questions at con panels? The questions you guys are getting on the show are far superior (IMO) than what comes at the con panels.
The Great Expectations reference was unexpected. (That had some pun potential) So, if Terri Doti were Miss Havisham, would that make J Michael Tatum into Abel Magwitch, and Trina Nishimura into Estella? I could almost see that…the tangents that a mind can take 😉
On the “If you could have any of your character’s powers” question, I was kinda confused at your choices. For J. Michael Tatum, lightning is cool, but if memory serves, you had a character who was invincible and could transform into a deity-esque being. Not to mention preternatural strength & the ability to breathe in space. Though could you get all the powers of Japanese Hercules without the binding labors? The question didn’t specify that you had to take the good with the bad 🙁
For Terri Doti, wasn’t she immortal in Mnemosyne?(Yes, I saw it..those Funimation previews lied! Joe Wilson! lol) Eternal youth & the inability to die seem hard to beat?
For Trina Nishimura, is marksmanship really a superpower? I didn’t think it was, though admittedly I didn’t watch the whole of Witch Hunter.
(Sadly I’m not well versed in her roles, which is why I was listening to this podcast, but the only char with powers role I can think of for her is her role in Witchblade…but who wants a fatal power?)
Also, isn’t Trina Nishimura going to be in Orlando on the last weekend of March? I’m surprised that didn’t merit a mention.
I just finished listening to the podcast! That was a fun one.
Also I would like to say I agree with KL. I don’t understand why these questions don’t get asked in panels.
Keep on keeping on and always pay it forward!
Conventions could learn a thing or 2 from your guest bios. You guys post reasonably full and/or entertaining bios.
Cons overwhelmingly just give a cut & dry account listing a modicum of roles, and only what they think are “high-profile” roles.
Without a good bio, I’ve missed out on giving my regards to great actors for their roles that I enjoyed. Patrick Seitz perpetually gets the short end of the stick, for instance.
On this, I’d bet money that no bio in a con program is going to list Trinia Nishimura as having been in Jyu-oh-sei (I wish I didn’t know that, actually) and Witchblade.
(Sadly, that show isn’t “ever-popular”, though it could have been)
She’s slated to be at a con in Q3 2011 nearby, I’ll see if they list any roles for her besides Witch Hunter and Illustrious.
